It's more common than you think

South Carolina is ranked #6 in the nation for the number of women killed due to domestic violence in

 Approximately 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year. 


Signs of an Abuser

  • Isolates you from family and friends
  • Threatens you with weapons
  • Destroys your personal property
  • Is verbally Abusive
  • Extremely jealous
  • Overreacts to small things
  • Unpredictable mood swings
  • Seems charming to outsiders
  • Puts you down/calls you names
  • Slaps, hits, punches, or shoves you
  • Has problems with authority figures
  • Doesn't take responsibility for actions
  • Tells you no one else will want you
  • Threatens to hurt you, your children, family, friends, pets or himself
